Yaritza Perez is the field coordinator in Orlando, Florida. She is a proud mom and a proud veteran of the Marine Corps.
After serving in the military for over 10 years, Yaritza was looking for a new way to serve her country. She found a passion for veteran advocacy through volunteering for various veteran-focused nonprofit organizations. Growing up playing sports and being in the Marine Corps, she understood the importance of keeping a healthy lifestyle and a healthy environment.
Yaritza is now able to repurpose her service by advocating for a cleaner environment for moms, veterans, and her community in Orlando. She is the Florida state coordinator for EcoMadres—Moms Clean Air Force’s Latino outreach program—and has led multiple virtual “cafecitos” to bring Latina moms and community members together to continue advocating for children’s health. She serves on the National Parks Conservation Association Veterans Council. Her work has been featured in Newsweek, HipLatina, the Orlando Sentinel, and the Tampa Dispatch and on Univision and ¡Despierta Orlando!.
See how moms are making a difference in Florida.
