Press Statement July 19, 2021

Contact: Ashley Santa Cruz, 602-558-3157, ashley@apexsc-az.com

North Las Vegas, NV – On Wednesday, July 21, at 10:00 a.m. PT, Nevada Assemblywoman Susie Martinez and North Las Vegas Councilmember and Member of the Regional Transportation Commision of Southern Nevada Isaac Barron will join climate justice advocates for a press conference to call for strong federal investments in clean transportation infrastructure, and specifically highlight the need for electric transit buses in Southern Nevada. This event, which is part of a series occurring across the country as the U.S. Congress and the Biden administration consider broad infrastructure proposals, will be hosted by Mi Familia Vota and Moms Clean Air Force Nevada.

Transportation accounts for almost a third of all U.S. air pollution and is the single largest source of climate-harming carbon pollution in the U.S. Investments in clean transportation are essential to reduce Southern Nevada’s air pollution, improve public health, achieve environmental justice, and spur the local economy. Bold federal investments to help modernize the transportation sector, which 71 percent of the public supports, can spur the advancement of such programs to create economic opportunity for all Nevadans.

  • Cinthia Zermeño Moore, Field Consultant, Moms Clean Air Force Nevada
