Tell the House of Representatives: Don’t Allow Toxic Polluters to Turn Off Pollution Controls

Tell the House of Representatives: Don’t Allow Toxic Polluters to Turn Off Pollution Controls

Shockingly, the House of Representatives is considering letting the nation’s most toxic polluters permanently turn off their pollution controls. This would mean chemical plants, refineries, and pesticide manufacturers could release unlimited amounts of health-harming chemicals into the air we all breathe.

Tell Congress: Defend EPA’s Ability to Protect Human Health and the Environment

The current assault on EPA by polluters and their allies in the White House and Congress is unprecedented. Protecting the environment and human health cannot be done without essential funding and staff.

Tell Administrator Zeldin: Cutting Climate Pollution Is One of EPA’s Most Important Jobs

The mission of the Environmental Protection Agency is to protect human health and the environment, but the new EPA Administrator, Lee Zeldin, is poised to stop regulating the greenhouse gas emissions responsible for putting our weather on steroids and threatening all people’s well-being.

Tell Congress: Save Cleaner Energy to Protect Our Children’s Health and Future

The benefits of cleaner energy are obvious: less pollution, cleaner air, a more stable climate, good-paying jobs in our communities, fewer health risks for our children. Congress must support the transition to solar and wind energy by preserving existing clean energy tax credits.

The government agencies that play a vital role in keeping families safe from weather threats and helping communities recover from disasters—the National Weather Service, NOAA, and FEMA—are under direct attack by the Trump administration.

Tell Congress: Freezing Federal Funding Hurts Children

The Constitution gives Congress the “power of the purse.” And yet funds passed by Congress—and benefitting families nationwide—have now been frozen by the Trump administration without congressional approval.

Tell Congress: Protect Families From the Plastics and Petrochemical Industry

Toxic pollution from the plastics and petrochemical industry threatens the air we breathe and the water we drink, exposing families across the U.S. to health-harming industrial chemicals. Our government must protect us!

¡Nuestro gobierno debe protegernos!

Tell Congress: Burning Plastic Is Not a Solution to the Plastics Crisis

Tell Congress: Burning Plastic Is Not a Solution to the Plastics Crisis

"Advanced recycling," a.k.a. burning plastic, is not a solution to the plastic pollution crisis. It is dangerous. Any legislation before Congress promoting "advanced recycling" would mean the proliferation of plastics-burning facilities across the country—and it would exempt these incinerators from air pollution controls.

Around the world, climate change is intensifying extreme weather events and changing the land we live on. Scientists anticipate that as the planet continues to heat up, more and more people will be forced to leave the places they call home.

Tell Congress: Support Increased Funding for Tribal Air Programs

Tribal air programs are necessary to protect the health of Indigenous communities, which have high rates of asthma, diabetes, heart disease, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder, and other diseases linked to air pollution exposure. But these programs lack the funding necessary to achieve their goals.
