As our friend Raffi sings, “The more we get together, together, together, the more we get together the happier we’ll be…” And now, Moms Clean Air Force certainly is happy to highlight our newest partner: Physicians for Social Responsibility, or PSR.
Founded in 1961, PSR’s mission is to protect human life from the gravest threats to health and survival. PSR asserts a strong medical voice to slow, stop and reverse global warming and toxic degradation of the environment and for the prevention of nuclear war.
In recent years PSR has focused on the human health effects of coal pollution, the dangers of coal ash disposal, and the health benefits of the Clean Air Act. What’s more, PSR also has a national network of local chapters working to raise awareness, advocate for a healthy environment, and engage in local projects.
MCAF and PSR are working together to get the word out about the health effects of air pollution. Stay tuned for information about Fall 2012 events that focus on the health effects of coal fired power plants.
Moms Clean Air Force partners with organizations and blogs around the country to spread the word about air pollution and our children’s health, and help people take action.
