This year, the Moms Clean Air Force, “MCAF” for short, is at the BlogHer conference. This is a great chance for MCAF to make connections with other bloggers and spread the clean air message. If you are attending BlogHer ’11 (lucky you!), please make sure to stop by and meet some of the MCAF bloggers.
I, personally, am attending HomeHer ’11 this year. I first heard of “HomeHer” last year on twitter, as a response to all those #BlogHer tweets, those of us who were at home were sharing what we were up to. For the most part there weren’t speakers, panels, or fancy parties. There weren’t any gift bags or swag. At HomeHer, there’s laundry, dishes, diapers, and cooking. But don’t be jealous! There’s also family, love, and the comfort of sleeping in your own bed.
I am a homebody and with a small child there was no way I was going to fly to the opposite coast for the weekend. Instead, HomeHer ’11 here I come! However, this is an exciting weekend for me anyway. One of my dear childhood friends is getting married tonight, and my town’s Potato and Corn Festival is this weekend. While my BlogHer contemporaries are tweeting about meeting up with online friends, I’ll be hanging out with old friends, both of which are good! Anybody else remember that old Girl Scout song? “Make new friends, but keep the old. One is sliver but the other’s gold.”
So, to those of you attending BlogHer, I send out good wishes to you! But for those of us at HomeHer, I encourage you to make the most of your time, too! Live each day to the fullest. My family, friends and I will be out enjoying some beautiful summer days in the fresh air at HomeHer.
Please join Moms Clean Air Force to help us fight for clean air for our kids.
