Pennsylvania Public Hearing to Control VOC Emissions from Oil and Gas Sources

June 25, 2020
6:00 pm
- 8:00 pm EDT

Pennsylvania needs members to sign up for the methane public hearing that covers existing sources of oil and gas pollution.

Oil and gas operations are leaking, venting, and flaring dangerous climate pollution at alarming rates, making our air less healthy to breathe and the climate crisis worse. As the second-largest natural gas-producing state in the nation, Pennsylvania has a responsibility to step up and become a national leader in reducing harmful methane and air pollution from existing oil and gas infrastructure.

On May 23, Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) released a notice announcing a series of virtual hearings on June 23, 24, and 25 for public input on a proposal to curb pollution from the oil & gas industry.

We must curb methane pollution – and to do so, the Department of Environmental Protection needs to hear from Pennsylvania parents with a real stake in the game, not just insiders from the oil and gas industry.
