In November 2022, EPA announced $53.4 million in grant awards for 132 community air monitoring projects in 37 states, including North Carolina. Funded by the Inflation Reduction Act and the American Rescue Plan, these projects are focused on communities that have been historically marginalized and overburdened by pollution, supporting President Biden’s Justice40 Initiative. The funding is meant to improve ambient air quality monitoring and allow communities to collect new data on air pollution to address polluted areas.
Join Moms Clean Air Force and our panel of experts to learn more about air quality in North Carolina and how the three community air monitoring projects that received EPA funding will impact local communities.
