One of North America’s largest producers of electric school buses—Lion Electric—will be in Livingston on Friday, June 25, to demonstrate the health benefits and cost savings of electrifying the Montana’s fleet of school buses. With plans underway to clean up and invest in a once-in-a-generation infrastructure package as part of the American Jobs Plan, this event will showcase the nationwide push to upgrade old school buses with better technology to reduce children’s exposure to harmful school bus diesel exhaust. In Montana, electrification of school buses is also being incentivized by the Montana Department of Transportation.
Join teachers, students, clean-air advocates, elected leaders, and other community members for this ride-and-drive event. Lion Electric will provide tours of the inside of an electric school bus, short rides in the parking lot, and opportunities for school officials to test-drive an electric vehicle.
