SUMMARY:Motherhood Live: The "Wine Mom" Label & Other Cons to Silence Moms
DESCRIPTION:Apparently\, moms are the latest “threat” to America. According to recent media narratives\, the real danger isn’t broken systems or failed leadership. It’s “organized gangs of wine moms”—women who are standing up\, speaking out\, and refusing to stay quiet. It’s meant to sound ridiculous. And it is. But it’s also deliberate. \nWhen women show up in public and refuse to be silent\, ridicule is always the first line of attack. Labels are used to shrink us. Jokes are used to dismiss us. Panic is manufactured to push us back into our place. But we know better. \nMoms’ Isabel González Whitaker will join Reshma Saujani\, Gloria Steinem\, Ilana Glazer\, Anna Malaika Tubbs\, Emily Oster\, Shannon Watts\, Erin Maye Quade\, Katie Bethell\, and thousands of other moms for a live conversation decoding the cons meant to shrink moms’ voices. This virtual event will leave you educated\, energized\, and ready to show up anyway. Register to save your spot. \nThis event is brought to you in partnership with Moms First\, Culture House\, EcoMadres\, the Meteor\, Moms Clean Air Force\, Mother Tongue\, MoveOn\, Red Wine & Blue\, and WIE Suite.

SUMMARY:Clean Energy Webinar - Healthier Air\, Better Jobs\, Lower Costs for Our Families (A Look at North Carolina and Florida)
DESCRIPTION:The shift from fossil fuels to cleaner energy is vital for a healthy and stable environment. But this transition is not just about protecting the safety of our children\, it’s about ensuring they can thrive in communities with good jobs\, vibrant economies\, and a secure future. \nClean energy has been a powerful engine for opportunity – bringing work\, investments\, and growth to states across the country. In this second session of Moms Clean Air Force’s webinar series with Bob Keefe\, Executive Director of E2 (Environmental Entrepreneurs)\, we’ll spotlight North Carolina and Florida. \nIn recent years\, nearly two dozen large-scale clean energy projects have been announced in North Carolina\, driving job growth more than 50% faster than the state overall. Florida saw similar momentum\, with clean energy jobs growing nearly 2.5 times faster than the state’s overall employment in 2023. \nToday\, that progress is under threat. The current administration’s attacks on clean energy incentives are stalling growth and putting good jobs at risk. Join us to learn how smart climate and energy policy has reshaped local economies – and what families and individuals can do now to help protect this progress. \nSpeakers: \nBob Keefe\, Executive Director of Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2)\nAshley Hillard (Moderator)\, Georgia Field Organizer\, Moms Clean Air Force \nLivestream: Moms Clean Air Force and EcoMadres Facebook\, X\, and Youtube. SUMMARY:They Poisoned the World: Life and Death in the Age of Forever Chemicals Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special Children’s Environmental Health Day conversation about the widespread pollution of “forever chemicals” and their impact on the health of children and families. \nInvestigative journalist Mariah Blake will share insights from her new book\, “They Poisoned the World: Life and Death in the Age of Forever Chemicals\,” a gripping exposé of the chemical industry and its decades-long campaign to hide the dangers of these substances. Drawing on years of reporting\, the book reveals how these man-made chemicals—found in everything from lipstick and cookware to children’s clothing—have thoroughly polluted the environment and our bodies\, endangering our health. They have also been linked cancer\, infertility\, obesity\, diabetes\, hormone disruption\, and life-threatening pregnancy complications. \nBecoming a mother inspired Mariah’s journey to understand the threat posed by toxic chemicals and what we can do to protect future generations. In conversation with Moms Clean Air Force National Field Manager Maria Finnegan\, she will discuss her book\, as well as: \n\nChallenges of raising children in the age of chemical pollution\nInspiring grassroots movements that are fighting to turn off the tap on toxic chemicals like PFAS\nConcrete steps we can take to protect our families\n\nMariah Blake is an award-winning investigative journalist whose writing has appeared in The New York Times\, The Atlantic\, Mother Jones\, The New Republic\, and other publications. SUMMARY:Pittsburgh CCAC Solar Site Tour with Congressman Deluzio
DESCRIPTION:Join PennFuture\, CVPA\, PennEnvironment\, and Moms Clean Air Force with Congressman Chris Deluzio to showcase how clean energy projects are already flourishing in the region thanks to federal clean energy tax credits. We’ll start off with a press conference that touts the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC)’s 543 kilowatt solar installation that will produce enough electricity to power 30-40% of its North Campus’s energy needs. \nWe will also showcase CCAC’s electric vehicle (EV) apprenticeship program that launched earlier this year that combines paid training with technical education to meet the demand for skilled EV technicians.  \nAttendees will be able to access the roof to view the solar installation. A variety of electric vehicles will also be available to view and ask questions as well.  \nCome celebrate the progress that federal clean energy tax credits have helped make over the years\, creating good-paying jobs\, lowering air and climate pollution\, and helping Pennsylvanians save money.
