EcoMadres is a national community of parents and caregivers acting together to protect the health of Latino families from air pollution and climate change.
We educate and empower our members to use their voices to reach lawmakers and demand equitable solutions that protect our children’s health.
EcoMadres recognize that Latinos often live and work in frontline communities disproportionately exposed to harmful air pollution, climate change, and toxic chemicals, which is why we collectively pursue environmental justice with a passion.
Through engaging in-person and online cafecitos, EcoMadres bring Latino families together for uplifting yet impactful conversation about how we make lasting change in our communities.

Climate Change and Latinos
Climate change has a tremendous impact on the health, livelihoods, and overall well-being of Latinos in the United States. Latinos bear a disproportionate burden from climate impacts because of where they live and work and the type of work they do. Additionally, Latinos are concerned about climate change in significantly larger numbers than the general population of the United States.

In October 2022, we celebrated EcoMadres’ 4th anniversary fighting for Justice in Every Breath. With much love, we bring you the song “Legado” (Legacy), composed and produced by Moms Clean Air Force Iowa State Coordinator Karin Stein and performed by Conjunto EcoMadres (EcoMadres Ensemble). “Legacy” aims to inspire hope in our community and is a call to action to protect the health of our children and our future.

Using a mix of original songs and cover songs performed primarily in Spanish, Conjunto EcoMadres, or EcoMadres Ensemble, calls attention to environmental injustice, but also offers hope and calls out to Latinos and Latinas to take action. The performers are professional musicians and EcoMadres members based in the Midwest and originally hailing from Mexico, Colombia, Panama, and Argentina. To appeal to a broad range of Latino cultures, the songs cover a broad range of styles, such as cumbia, banda, bolero, and contemporary pop.
